The exhibition of artworks by Lenche Mitevska represents a retrospective or a backward glance, from the beginning of her artistic work in the 1980s to the year 2016. From the start of her creative period, Lenche Mitevska’s works reflect her temperament and the passion with which she has devotedly and lovingly built her artistic scene. Mitevska’s artistic scene gradually grows and evolves into various artistic contents. Following her instinct and aesthetic, Mitevska successfully and in a short time develops her personal and recognizable painterly signature in her works. Her early painting motifs belong to the period of Bela Arte or the fine art of the 1990s in Macedonia and the region. These are works with floral figurations, landscapes, and still lifes arranged in an ambient manner with a nostalgic and romantic tone of a beautiful experience. Later, Mitevska fills the ambiance of her paintings with architectural elements and realistically painted traditional houses and yards, representing a sentimental document of the places and people in her surroundings. In her further artistic evolution, Mitevska develops and expands her painting technique, using acrylic paints; for a period, she also works with black printing ink, through which she abstractly and graphically creates a series of collages on the theme of social pathology as a phenomenon of the 2000s. The millennium decade of Lenche Mitevska is marked by cycles of abstract paintings as well as figurations in an abstract background, touching on the dimension of the subconscious where reality, dreams, and desires blend. Working in her studio in Tetovo, Lenche Mitevska tirelessly experiments with different media, handmade paper, glass, and clay, creating a series of objects from applied art with visual and artistic decoration. Mitevska has realized many solo and group exhibitions and has participated in numerous art colonies, workshops, and seminars in Macedonia, the region, and in European Union countries: Slovenia, Bulgaria, France, and Germany.
