May 5, 2025 | Berlin, Germany

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the codification of the Macedonian language, on May 5, 2025, the exhibition “Sacred Places” by Dr. Panče Velkov—Director of the City Museum of Skopje and President of the association “Macedonida”—was opened at the Embassy of Macedonia in Germany. The Ambassador of Macedonia to Germany, Ilber Sela, who officially opened the exhibition, welcomed the attendees and spoke about the importance of preserving the Macedonian language. Following him, Tatjana Jakovlevska Bonet gave a talk highlighting the broader context of the use and protection of the Macedonian language. Dr. Velkov also spoke about the exhibition and the paintings, which symbolize religious sanctity in various parts of the world. In addition to the exhibition, Dr. Panče Velkov held meetings with children from Macedonian schools across Germany, their teachers, and many members of the Macedonian community in Berlin and throughout the Federal Republic of Germany. He also met with ambassadors from other countries around the world.
